I’m an Aussie living in Japan who enjoys; traveling and shooting photos with a compact and robust M43 camera system

Although I started photography on an APS-C Nikon, later moving up to the Full Frame sensor, I came to realize that I couldn’t take that much equipment with me when I traveled because of the size and weight of the lenses.
Don’t get me wrong, the Nikon cameras and lenses are fantastic, and I’ve really enjoyed the photographic experiences that they’ve provided for me.
In fact, I still have a Nikon D700 & Nikon F4 (film camera) which I absolutely adore, but I sold all of my lenses on Yahoo Auction (Japan) and bought a few cheap old ones which are in superb condition.
I decided that I wanted to downsize my camera system but didn’t want to sacrifice the quality of the photographs.
After a lot of research on the web, I chose to purchase an Olympus EM1 Mark II and have accumulated several lenses.
I’ve been completed gobsmacked by the incredible quality of the photos churned out by the M43 system. They’re AMAZING!
The lightweight means that I can take all of my lenses with me when I travel, which would be unthinkable with a Full Frame system.
As a bonus, by adapting my Nikkor lenses with a speed booster, I can also use all of them on my Olympus EM1 M2 with one full stop more speed.
My old Nikkor 50mm f1.4 is an f1.0 when coupled with my m43 cameras. Sweet! (Yes, I know f2 regarding DOF in 35mm terms, but the bokeh is still beautiful.)
I believe that all cameras these days are capable of taking gorgeous photos and I’m not into knocking any brand or camera system.
They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Just find the one that works for you and enjoy taking pictures.
I hope to showcase photos from the M43 system on this website and to give my opinions regarding the camera world, particularly Micro Four Thirds.
